Undercoating & Rust Protection · Blackduck, MN
Minnesota winters eat trucks. We stop it.
Salt, slush, and sand turn a good vehicle into a rusty one faster than anywhere else in the country. Northern Rustproofing coats your undercarriage in a lanolin-based film that never dries out — so corrosion never gets a foothold.

The problem
Untreated vehicles up here all rust. It's only a matter of time.
Northern Minnesota roads get salted and sanded for months at a stretch. That brine works its way into every seam, frame rail, and brake line on your vehicle and sits there — long after the snow is gone.
By the time rust is visible on the outside, the frame underneath has usually been working on it for years. The photos here are real customer vehicles that came through our shop: frames flaking, floor pans pitted, brake lines scaled over.
Undercoating won't reverse rust that already exists — but it dramatically slows what's started, and on a newer vehicle it prevents the whole problem before it begins.

The service
How a treatment goes.
Every vehicle gets the same process — up on the lift, masked off, and coated everywhere corrosion likes to start.
Up on the lift
Your vehicle goes up so every inch of the underside is reachable — not sprayed blind from a creeper.
Masked & prepped
Brakes, exhaust, and body panels get covered so the coating lands where it belongs and nowhere else.
Sprayed inside & out
Frame rails, rockers, and box sections get flooded from the inside through access holes — where rust actually starts.
Dated & tracked
You leave with a dated NRP sticker so you and we both know exactly when it's due again.
The product
Lanolin. Not rubber, not tar.
That single sentence is the whole philosophy. Hard rubberized coatings crack, trap moisture underneath, and then quietly rust your frame from the inside while looking fine from below.
A lanolin-based coating stays soft and mobile. It keeps creeping into seams, it self-heals when a stone chips it, and it displaces the moisture already sitting in there instead of sealing it in.
- Stays wet — never cracks or flakes off
- Creeps into seams and box sections on its own
- Displaces moisture rather than trapping it
- Applied as a certified Platinum Rust Protection installer

Anything with a steel frame sitting outdoors through a Minnesota winter is a candidate.
